To clean a toilet, you’ll need the following: gloves, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfectant spray, toilet brush, vinegar, borax and lemon juice.
1. Apply toilet bowl cleaner
Start by applying toilet bowl cleaner underneath the rim and allow it to work its way down. Using the toilet brush, scrub the bowl, ensuring you clean right beneath the rim and the U-bend. Close the seat, allowing the cleaner to soak in the bowl for between 10 and 15 minutes.
2. Clean the outside of the toilet
While that’s left soaking, spray down the outside of the toilet using disinfectant spray, beginning at the top of the cistern and working your way down. Use a sponge and regularly rinse it out with hot water.
3. Cleaning the rim
When you’ve cleaned outside of the toilet, open the seat and begin to work on the rim. This is the worst part, we know, but with the right amount of disinfectant and a bit of hard work, you’ll have it sparkling clean in no time.
4. One last scrub
Use the toilet brush the give the bowl one final scrub.
5. Wipe the surfaces down regularly
Finally, regularly wipe down the surfaces to keep your toilet fresh and clean.
